Periods are a part of life but they shouldn’t be a point of inequality, embarrassment or stress. Nor should they compromise someone’s quality of life or be a distraction from making the very most of time spent at school.
Free sanitary products are available to pupils, as part of a scheme aimed at ensuring that no young person misses out on their education through lack of access to sanitary products.
Primary 6 and 7 pupils each September are informed of this in their relationships programme – God’s Loving Plan.
